• AutoOz is an Automotive Manufacturer that develops Signature Edition versions of factory vehicles utilizing custom designed parts and accessories that meet or exceed factory specifications.
• AutoOz brings together today's top celebrities and combines their input with that of award winning automotive designers to result in unique signature vehicles from factory approved OEM Tier 1 suppliers.
• Only 500 vehicles are offered in the first signature vehicle offered by AutoOz, each numbered in sequence. They include a specially designed badging on the vehicle and a piece of game-used memorabilia encased inside.
• The original genesis of AutoOz came from the 1999 Goldman Sachs eAutomotive Report which described how the automakers will eventually be in the fast-to-market/made to order marketplace. Under the made-to-order/fast-to-market AutoOz system, AutoOz is able to make sure that the supply chain is totally demand driven and fully responsive to the needs of the consumer. For the 2002 model year, AutoOz will meet the consumer's demand for a special edition feature vehicle that utilizes the supply chain of Tier 1 suppliers who meet the factories demanding specifications. This type of approach will demonstrate the concepts for made-to-order that have been outlined by Gary Lapidus in the eAutomotive study in Jan. 2000.
• Each line is created with an auto manufacturer's design group/team. In the case of the first signature series from AutoOz, the Shaq SST, it will be offered for sale through Ford Dealerships.
• Vehicles are designed with up front input by the celebrity in conjunction with the brand's leading automotive design team. For the SST, it is Ken Grant of Blue Dot Design, who was the lead designer on the 2002 Ford Thunderbird.
• Vehicles are not cobbled together parts from different sources like most customized vehicles. These will look like they were created in the factory because all parts and design enhancements will have been created by OEM automotive suppliers.
• Top Tier OEM suppliers are using these vehicles to showcase their advanced technology and features. Due to the very long delays (often four years or more) incurred in normal automotive rollout, the AutoOz vehicles provide them an opportunity to show off approved features years before they hit the general automotive market.
